New in Calories 3:
Input panel diet/activities:
- Separate or multiple entries can now be copied to the following date or today, using a right click.
- The calories and status of your nutritional goals can be viewed for each individual meal.
Tracking activities:
- Three options are available:
- by duration: Choose an activity from the list and specify the duration
- by energy: Specify an activity and how many calories you wish to burn. Calories will calculate the required duration
- direct input: Enter how many calories you have burned directly, if you know the value from certain fitness products.
Settings:
- User data: Choose your activity level from five different settings. This enable Calories to calculate your calorie requirement. Alternatively, you can enter your calorie requirement directly.
- Devices: Setting up data import from devices (e.g. Withings account) is now easier than ever before.
- Analysis: You can now enter your blood sugar values in either mg/dl or mmol/l.
- Sync-Service: Setting up the synchronization account has been improved and simplified.
Measurements:
- You can now access three separate panels to enter your body data via the measurements icon.
- New: Track your blood pressure. Enter your measurements manually or import them from the Withings Blood Pressure Monitor.
- New: Track your blood sugar. Enter your measurements manually; we are currently working on the implementation of data import.
Nutrients:
- The info panel for nutrients has been improved. Color coded graphs show you if you are keeping to your goals for any nutrients you have specified goals for.
Analysis mode:
- The analysis view offers five different chronological graphs.
- Use the "dramatic view” of the weight graph to see even the slightest changes to your body weight.
- Blood pressure: You may enter as many values per day as you wish. Clicking a measurement shows you additional details and the time.
- Blood sugar: You may enter as many values per day as you wish. Clicking a measurement shows you additional details and the time.
Assistants:
- The milestone assistant: You can specify a timeframe within which you wish to reach your desired weight. The milestone assistant calculates the required daily reduction in calorie intake and your calorie requirement to sustain your final weight once you have reached it. This eliminates the infamous yoyo effect. The resulting calorie requirements are visualized as your daily calorie limit in the diet view. You can specify and activate as many milestones as you wish.
- "My Temptation”: This assistant always lets you know if an "unplanned” treat is in order. Your personal dietary habits are analyzed to give you an accurate recommendation.
Data import:
- Data import from the Withings Blood Pressure Monitor is supported.
- Data import from the Body Media Sensor is supported. The calories you burned are automatically added to your list of activities. Available in Calories 3.1
- Data import from Wahoo devices (RunningSet, Bluetooth armband etc.) is supported via Cal2Go for the iPhone. The calories you burned can be added to your list of activities in Calories using the synchronization function. Available in Calories 3.2
